Bible Quote Worth Meditating on: Ephesians 5:25-27

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word, that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish."

We, as husbands, are called not just to love our wives, but to love them as Christ loved the Church. And how did He love the Church? He sacrificed Himself for her. He sanctified her through that sacrifice. We, as husbands, must do the same. We will not have the opportunity to die on the cross for our wives, but we can die to sin, die to self, die to worldly concerns and learn to live only in Christ Jesus. As we find out in Ephesians, when we do that, Christ brings sanctification not only to us, but to our wives as well.
