Feast of St. Agnes
This http://cnsblog.wordpress.com/2009/01/21/their-fleece-was-white-as-snow-presumably/ is one of those traditions that make Catholicism fun. Background is that today is the Feast of St. Agnes, virgin and martyr. Agnes comes from Agnus (as in Agnus Dei) which means lamb, or pure one. So lambs are blessed at her church.
